About Blueface Consulting

We’ve been established as a firm of Chartered Accountants in Allendale in the North Pennines since 2005. We’ve always focussed on our services to farmers and food producers, and now that’s all we do – specialist advice to one special business sector.

We aim to help you run your business as efficiently as possible; maximising profits and making the best use of all available reliefs and allowances to minimise tax bills.

Alison Cutts BSc PhD FCA MBA is the director and principal of Blueface Consulting. Alison is a graduate of Leeds University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young in 1998.

After a few more years in practice, including a spell as a manager at Andersen (at the time, one of the "big five" group of UK Chartered Accountants), Alison spent a few years working in industry for a former client before setting up Blueface Consulting in 2005. Northern Foods, when it was a plc, was one of Alison’s main clients, both at Ernst & Young and Andersen.

Alison’s interest in farming and sheep comes, in part, from her family background of butchers and farmers.

When she’s not busy helping farmers to save tax, Alison enjoys running in the hills and regularly takes part in longer trail races and ultramarathons around Northern England and Scotland.
